A CLEARER MAP.
FOR MORE PEOPLE.
Readable content and controls that do not depend on one way of browsing.
Page date: September 13, 2026
Navigation and reading
The site includes a skip-to-content link, semantic headings, breadcrumbs, visible keyboard focus, and a mobile navigation menu. The menu can be opened by keyboard, and Escape closes it when the site script is available. Article contents link directly to the relevant headings.
Images and motion
Informative images include alternative text and explicit dimensions. The article illustrations support the written content rather than replace it. Hover movement is disabled for browsers that request reduced motion, and essential information is not delivered through an animation.
The local measurement demo
Preset and unit controls are ordinary buttons. Their selected states are exposed to assistive technology, and the primary results are announced through live regions. The SVG map has a text description. No drag-only action, geolocation permission, or text-entry field is needed to explore the examples.
Without JavaScript
Articles, navigation, category pages, source references, and FAQ disclosures remain usable without JavaScript. The measurement demo retains its initial map and calculated values, but switching examples and units requires the script. A visible note explains that behavior when scripting is disabled.
Report a barrier
Accessibility needs vary, and the site does not claim a formal certification. Email [email protected] with the page and a description of the difficulty. Include device or assistive-technology context when it helps explain the issue, without sharing unnecessary personal information.
